Without further ado

Alright, I suppose in this first post I should say something or other about myself, so here goes.

I was born (at least so they tell me, for all I know I fell out of the sky) 21 years ago in Birmingham, Alabama, lived there ever since.

I am the eldest of four kids (or as the Borg would say First of Four). My siblings are Nathan (the math genius with a brain shaped like a football), Luke (also a math genius, the gene apparently skipped me, with a black belt in Tae Kwan Do) and Anna (who has Down Syndrome and autism but I wouldn't have it any other way).

My goal in life (well actually I have several goals I just can't remember them all right now) is to be a writer, a storyteller. I've known this since I was six when I read the Chronicles of Narnia and decided I wanted to be just like their author, C.S. Lewis (who I happen to share a birthday with, weird, eh?). I have dozens of ideas for novels and short stories, the trouble is getting them down on paper.

My primary obsession is mythology. Few things fascinate me more than the stories of ancient cultures. The Greek myths in particular are my favorite stories so don't be too surprised if I throw in a mythological reference here and there. My secondary obsession is comic books. I guess this spins out of the mythology obsession, since comic books are essentially modern day myth and folklore.

Anyway, I'm writing this blog because the powers that be have seen fit to send me Cambridge, England this semester to study via Lee University's Global Perspectives Program. This blog will chronicle my time over there, as well as my travels through Europe near the end of the semester (at this point feel free to envy me, especially if you're related to me somehow :p).

Okay that's all for now. I'll post again when, oh, something interested happens.
